Thanks for your interesting, thoughtful reply. Much appreciated. I have long been fascinated by the intertwining connections between all religions. As for Buddhism and Islam there are many historic paths that have crossed with these two religions. I've spent quite a bit of time recently traveling through the Islamic world and have found it and its people fascinating and welcoming. During a recent trip to Samarkand, Uzbekistan, I was intrigued that one of Buddhism's paths to China was via the Silk Road, including a long stay by a famous Buddhist monk who evangelized the religion. At any rate, I have found many profound thoughts and comfort in the Quran, and look forward to more travels through the region, as well as an opportunity to learn more about the wisdom of the religion.
