I have memories of driving for a month through Ireland. I would be tooling along a two-lane country road and as I approached a rise would begin to panic. Wait! Should I be in the left lane? Or the right lane? Left? Or right? Complete sudden confusion. Argh! A couple times I would discover that I'd been driving for the past few miles in the completely wrong lane. Crazy. And that's not even to mention all the times I've stepped into a London crosswalk only to have to dive out of the way of an oncoming bus because I'd reflexively looked in the wrong direction.
