I actually didn't go there with the intention of exploring the Hemingway connection. Rather, when I got there and looked at the Puente Nuevo, I immediately thought of the cover of For Whom the Bell Tolls. And when I saw the Hemingway Memorial, I put 2 and 2 together. I then downloaded a copy of For Whom the Bell Tolls and read Chapter 10, the section about the uprising at Ronda during the Spanish Civil War.
